We found another stellar bike ride! The historic railroad trail near the Hoover Dam. Really awesome! Then a side track to Red Rock Canyon (thank you Kathy! Then a drive back through the Las Vegas strip. Pray for Pica, she has a grooming Appt tomorrow and because of her nasty nature when groomed, I really don’t think it will go well. Here’s hoping she can at least get a bath! Blessings to all!

Another beautiful 85 degree day in the west. A beautiful campsite at the Valley of Fires State Park, along with a morning display of rams wandering the campgrounds, then a gorgeous hike. Later, arriving at Lake Mead, finding another pretty dispersed camping location, and a quick swim in the lake. Today we decided to take the bikes into the park with Pica. She’s not allowed on the shuttle, so we rode the bicycles trail to the canyon lookout, then found out we could ride the 6-mile scenic drive to the end. So we did! Again, one of the top rides. Don’t pass this one up if you have the chance! Zion is only a few miles long and absolutely gorgeous on bikes. They don't allow cars and operate by shuttle into and out of the park. Stunning rock formations, beautiful canyons, rock formations, a huge tunnel to drive through and even a slot canyon at the end for the more adventurous hikers! Day 2 - - - “Just start to sing as you tackle the thing, that couldn’t be done, and you’ll do it” (Edgar Best) & Mark’s mom It’s amazing.. Two years ago, I feared I’d never be able to hike or bike again. Five weeks ago, Mark thought he wouldn’t be able to hike for a while. Today, the love for nature and beauty gave us both incentive to at least ‘try’ the trails we didn’t think we could do. After packing for a 10-mile hike (just to look like the pros), we started in on our hike just to see how far our physical limitations would take us. 5-1/2 miles later, we were rewarded with some beautiful scenery, memories, and the sense of accomplishment that we did something we didn’t think we could do. So my dear friends, no matter what your challenge, just start out and try it. You never know, maybe you’ll end up completing ‘the thing’ that you thought couldn’t be done, and you’ll do it! Enjoy the pictures from the Bryce area, within the Colorado Plateau. Stay Details: Tom's Best Dispersed Camping: (37.7275, -112.2477) * Tom's best was absolutely stunning! We had the open forest to ourselves. The trees are larger than life and the grounds are covered in pine needles and a fine dusty sand. The weather was definetely cold this time of year. We even froze a pipe for a hour one night! Only a few miles outside of the national park, and a bicycle trail to get there. When the weather gets warmer we will spend a couple days on our bicycles at this place. There is no place on earth like the colorful hoodoos of Bryce! Traveling day back to Salt Lake City for RV Warranty (decal and stove pegs, grommets & grates). What beautiful snow!

This is the Copper Ridge Dinosaur tracksite just north of Arches National Park. These Jurassic footprints are the largest I think I will ever see! They are about 13-16 inches! Unbelievable and well preserved, probably from a large Therapod (meat eater) In the third picture you can see a totally different footprint not unlike elephant tracks. These are from large sauropods (think of Land-before-times Brontosaur). It's hard to believe that these footprints are so well preserved and right next to each other. Perhaps from Noah's flood only a few thousand years ago! Stay Details: Dinosaur Track Site Dispersed Camp (38.8286, -109.7653)
Rode 25 miles in this beautiful country at Moab. I’d rate this as one of our top bike trails of all time!!
