When we plan out our lives, sometimes God has a different stretch of road in mind. As the photo depicts, we often have to take a side road to get where we belong.
We are excited to begin a new chapter in our lives. After serving over 10 years in the Christian Motorcyclists Association, our passion was to continue serving on the road with our RV. After searching for a ministry to get involved with, we decided to apply to the SOWERS ministry. You can learn more about it from the link.
We applied for the ministry on January 1st, 2021. Our interview came on January 15th, and we were accepted that day. After a 2 hour interview, we were well on our way to choose a project to work in. I can't begin to express how excited we are to start this new chapter and help serve in God's Kingdom while living on the road. We are very excited to see where the Lord leads and what He has in store for us in the years to come.
1st Project: New Life Ranch in north-east Oklahoma. We were parked right next to some beautiful horses, and while there, we painted doors, stained the church, cleaned, worked on mailings and were even treated on a horse ride!
2nd Project: Charis Hills (March 2022; Fort Worth, TX)- a teen camp with a mission to teach God to autistic kids. Our work is yet to be determined, but we should be working maintenance & office related projects.
3rd Project: Timber Wolf Lake Youth Camp (August 2022; Lake City, MI) - a teen youth camp resort. This will be our first project as a GL (Group Leader), so I hope we do well!
We will continue to look for projects that need the most help (under-served). We also hope to help with disaster relief, so that will take us south to hurricane areas and mid-east to tornado stricken areas.
