Home for us during our Yellowstone trip was a BLM land outside of Cody, WY. There were a good amount of people driving to the spot, parking and hiking to the top of the mountain. Few stayed the night, mostly just in cars. On our 3rd night, another traveler joined us. We ended up meeting them a few days later and exchanged some great travel stories. We found out there was a cave at the top of our mountain (Spirit Mountain) that used to be a National Park! However, we decided not to get a permit for it because we didn’t want to drive back up the bumpy road. :-) Stay Details: Dispersed Camping just west of Cody, WY.
