We were both raised with the love of camping, exploring, and being with family. Through our marriage, we loved traveling and exploring, but never liked returning home. We would always find something else to do before returning home in the wee hours of the morning, just to turn around and go to work within a few hours.
In 2019, our time in our home town was nearing an end and it was obvious. We made the scary decision to sell our home and explore the U.S.. In June, we began selling items, giving things away and donating items to missions. We put the house up for sale in January, and sold it within 2 weeks. We ordered our RV, then cleaned out the house. During this entire process, the Lord made it perfectly clear that our decision was not actually ours, it was His.
The RV arrived on my birthday, February 28th. We picked it up then spent the weekend winter-camping at our home resort, Outdoor Adventures in Lapeer. The 4-seasons package on the RV worked flawlessly, and we were cozy & warm in our new 'cabin' while it was winter and blustery outside.
Within the next few months, we completed the sale of our home, equipped the RV with a washer/dryer, 1200 watts of solar, and began planning our first adventures.
Our tentative plan is to be in Maine for work-camping, but I don't know how that will pan out with theh new Covid restrictions.
Our thoughts? There is a lot of little fears; unsurity, doubt... But yet there's tons of excitement! Of course the worst part is going to be saying "See Ya Later" to our family. We certainly hope that they support our dream.
For now, May the Lord guide our path, keep us safe, and bring us to people along the way that God wants us to help.
